Meet Laura Ridgeway…

Laura Ridgeway and Friends delight and entertain audiences with a variety of jazz, swing, oldies pop, blues, and original pieces – upbeat, festive, timeless pieces that appeal to a wide range of audiences. This group performs regularly at weddings, receptions, private parties, galas, finer restaurants, outdoor concerts, and festivals throughout the Triangle and state of North Carolina. Her list of appearances include the RBC Center, Raleigh Civic Center, Meymandi Hall (BTI Center), the N.C. Governor’s “Executive Mansion,” Gubernatorial Inaugural Ball festivities, N.C. Seafood Festival, N.C. Museum of History, and Charlotte Mint Museum and numerous private events across the state.

Laura’s three CDs, Laura and the Livewires (2009), Christmas at Home (2005), and Triple Dog Dare Ya (2002) have received airplay and illustrate her talents and growth as a versatile singer, songwriter, and entertainer.

Musicians performing with Laura Ridgeway come from varying musical backgrounds and genres of music with the common thread of their love for really great music that moves and grooves. They have performed throughout North Carolina, up and down the East Coast, including Washington, D.C. and New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles…..and even the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Depending on the event and budget size, the group can consist of a duo (vocals with keyboards or guitar) all the way to a five or six-piece group. The four-piece group consists of Laura Ridgeway as lead vocalist (and flutist), keyboardist or guitarist, bass with vocal harmony, and percussion. Additional musicians include horn players (sax, trumpet). Her musicians represent some of the finest in the region.

In addition, she performs in an acoustic guitar/two-part harmony duo performing blues, pop, light rock, folk pieces – even favorite sing-along songs with children.

Laura has performed in competitive show choirs, directed children’s choirs and talent shows, and is always a supportive and encouraging force in the community when it comes to music.
